The article provides a description and analysis of response measures to climate change as set by the international law, legal acts in certain foreign states and by Russian law. It is revealed that the primary and the only measure remains planning of adaption measures that gets further development in the Russian law. The adopted acts comprise mainly those that contain methodic, normative and technical recommendation, national standards. Such acts are in sufficient as they do not create a permanent and long-term base for addressing the adaption objective. Proposals on how to take advantage of the existing instruments of the environmental legislation are also formulated.
