About the Journal

Information and Analytical journal (IAJ) «Social and Humanitarian sciences: Domestic and foreign literature. Series 4: State and Law» is a subscription periodical of the INION RAS, published since 1974 as an abstract (RJ) in order to inform scientists, university teachers and faculties, graduate students and students about new research in various branches of law and legal science, legislative and law enforcement practice, achievements in the field of jurisprudence. Since 2021, the abstract journal has been transformed into an information and analytical journal (IAJ). It is designed to promote the development of legal science, improve the quality of training of lawyers and improve teaching activities in the field of jurisprudence. Each issue opens with special thematic collections of scientific and analytical reviews and articles on topical issues of jurisprudence. In 2021, the main topics of the issues of the journal were: «Artificial intelligence, the development of law and legal practice» (No. 1); «Constitutional reforms, constitutionalism and populism» (No. 2); «Sustainable development: environmental and legal problems of environmental protection and human quality of life» (No. 3); «The European Union: Constitutional and Institutional-Legal dimensions: new academic research» (No. 4). In 2022 – «The COVID-19 pandemic and Law» (No. 1); «Legal Education in the Era of Digitalization and Globalization: Comparative Studies» (No. 2); «Law and digital development» (No. 3). The issue is being prepared for printing «Legal regulation of genetically modified organisms: international and national experience"» (No. 4).

In addition to the thematic section, each issue of the IAJ includes reviews, articles, reviews and abstracts on various branches of law and areas of scientific research – theory and history of state and law, constitutional law, information law, civil law and procedure, criminal law and criminology, labor and environmental law, international law, etc. The focus is on the positions of Russian and foreign legal scholars on the problems of modern law, the analysis of new Russian and foreign legislation and the practice of its implementation. The journal aims to reflect a wide range of scientific interests of researchers, including doctrinal, conceptual, critical, of socio-legal significance.

THE MAIN SUBJECT AREA OF THE JOURNAL

The information and analytical journal (IAJ) «Social and Humanitarian Sciences. Domestic and foreign literature». Series 4: «State and Law» publishes scholarly works on the theory and history of state and law, constitutional and administrative law, information (digital) law, civil and business law, family law and the law of intellectual property, as well as labor law, environmental and natural resources law, public and private international law, the law of international integration organizations and on other branches of law and areas of legal science.

The journal is notable for publishing scientific articles and reviews on topical issues of jurisprudence. For example, in 2021-2023 the topics of the issues were the following: «Artificial intelligence, development of law and legal practice»; «Sustainable development: environmental and legal problems of environmental protection and human quality of life»; «COVID-19 pandemic and law»; «Legal education in the era of digitalization and globalization: comparative studies»; «Jurisprudence and digital development»; «Legal regulation of genetically modified organisms: international and national experience»; «Peace and security in the legal dimension»; «Migration and law: trends and problems»; «Legal conflict resolution studies, legal collisions in modern law»; «The Constitution of the Russian Federation and the future of Russian law: on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Russian Constitution», etc.

In addition, the IAJ includes sections: «Branch scientific legal research», «New technologies and law», «Book review» and «Scientific communications».

The IAJ focuses on the scientific positions of Russian and foreign legal scholars on the problems of modern law, on the analysis of new Russian and foreign legislation and the practice of its implementation. The journal aims to reflect a wide range of scientific interests of researchers, including doctrinal, conceptual, critical, debatable, evaluative-diagnostic and prognostic aspects of legal significance.

The IAJ publishes original scientific and review articles, book/article reviews, synopsizes covering important areas, trends and prospects for the development of Russian and foreign law. Much attention is paid to the analysis of researchers’ proposals for improving Russian legislation and solving problems arising from its application.
